An Important Job Qualification Question...What Would Suffice?

Our Founders did not write a document that required great legal expertise or philosophical studies to understand when they drafted our Constitution.  They wrote it for the people to understand by applying their own good common sense.

The document outlined a system of government that above all else was to ensure that individual liberty could not be obstructed by denying our unalienable rights, which are God-given.  Neither our neighbor nor any enemy, foreign or domestic, has any authority under our system of government to infringe upon our rights. No individual is allowed to exercise his or her rights at the expense of another.  Our federal governments sole purpose is to protect our rights against intrusions that our individual states would be unable to... due to their very nature.

The Founders knew that some government was necessary to maintain an orderly society and that government is force, which could be either a faithful servant or our fearful master, like fire is.

Every word of the Constitution was debated. None was accidentally or inadvertently inserted. None of these words were mere window-dressing or of no effect.  Each term or clause within this brilliantly conceived document has its own merit.  There are also no taboo or “birther” sections that should be avoided or not be discussed.

So as ordinary Americans we are able to look at the section that outlines the special requirements for the unique office which is given executive powers, command of the armed forces and interfaces with other sovereign nations in negotiating agreements with them. Our common sense tells us to keep in mind the overriding purpose for this document is to have a self government which keeps our liberty intact in a just society.

U.S. Constitution Article II, Section 1

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

So, when the Founders wrote these words they were in fact finalizing (subject only to Constitutional amendment) what they thought was required for this powerful office.

What would suffice for this office?

The person undoubtedly needs to be a citizen who had reached an age that ensured the opportunity to have enough education, maturity and experience to do the job.

He could not suddenly return to our society having lived elsewhere under foreign influence and vie immediately for the office. This person needed to establish 14 years residency.  What is the plain effect of these two separate requirements?

Clearly these are requirements meant for the public to judge the suitability for office to the chief representative of the American people. It is also common sense clear that only persons that are known to us to be involved and on record as part of American society by their words and deeds could be considered eligible.

The argument over the term “natural born Citizen” is being dissected every which way for its legal meaning.  If we apply common sense though, we see this special term refers to undivided American allegiance. A citizen child is not enough, the child must have parents whose ONLY allegiance is to the United States from the time he or she is born as well. Only those who needed to be “grandfathered” in at our humble beginnings were excepted from this.

Instinctively we know that the Founders would not have qualified anyone for this office who had any conflicts in allegiance for any other country like a born citizen with a foreigner parent has.

In a nutshell, our common sense tells us... only Americans, who are born that way, to only American parents, could ever be a “natural born Citizen.”

So the Founders required that only those we know are prepared for the job, are ingrained into our society with a minimum time requirement and who are “only” American at birth are eligible for consideration of the job.

It is unlikely, a person who has never proven even a broader definition of American citizenship, claimed a foreign citizen father, hidden all past ideological public writings, documents and/or foreign associations from view, and declared himself a “citizen of the world” is someone who could ever fit the requirements the Founders intended.

If they wouldn’t qualify such a person, why should we?

America has watched as the courts and media have done all they can to dismiss this question altogether.  

We, along with our common sense, are left to only speculate as to why that is.

Federal Government Tries Changing Our Constitutional Terms

If We the People do not have the authority to prevent non citizens from voting in our national elections it will not be long before our country ceases to exist as we know it.

The States are We the People, and We the People hold the power for self-government.  We must guard this power jealously at all times.  The supreme law of the land is on our side. Our Constitution.

The power of the States to define the qualifications needed for its electors (voters) was enshrined in the Constitution and was always reserved to the States.  We originally had it, and retained that power as the Federalist Papers explained. Even subsequent  related amendments to our Constitution did not change that reserved right- and for good reason.

Our federal government office holders are our employees and are strictly limited by our U.S. Constitution as to what authority they may exercise over the many States.

The problem is that very few of us really understand the "terms of the contract" so to speak, and falsely believe that our federal courts are the final say in Constitutional legal matters.

This lack of knowledge is a very serious problem for the future vitality of our nation.  The federal courts, federal legislators, and presidents are running amok with a continuing pattern of claiming authority over We the People that simply does not exist, but nevertheless is being stolen from us and award to themselves.

One is left to wonder if there is anyone fighting at the state level for the actual terms spelled out in our supreme law, the U.S. Constitution.  If not, why not? Are they too, ignorant of the law?  Have they bought into the notion that our law is now based on something else, such as Supreme Court precedent? Or are they afraid to fight back because without the backing of the people the swim against this strong prevailing current is too daunting? The people just don't seem to know enough about the limits on the federal power in the Constitution placed there intentionally.

Fortunately we have bloggers like Publius Huldah who helps us understand what the Constitution really means, the intentions behind its many clauses that the framers themselves explained, and the way the liberal/progressives constantly seek to alter the actual meanings and substitute their self-serving definitions.


In her latest blog post published at both Canada  Free Press and her Publius Huldah blog, she details how the Ninth Circuit Federal Court has decided to usurp our power in Gonzales v. Arizona 200, and give it to themselves once again. Publius Huldah walks the ordinary American layman through point by point on what the Constitution says, what was written about the power of the states to qualify its voters, and what the Federalist Papers say about this.  She also shows us that the Ninth Circuit's opinion used convoluted logic, misrepresentations, and actually changed terms in distorting what the Constitution says about federal power in this area, and shows they are trying to rewrite it.

The majority opinion is a tangled web of 62 pages. I address three points: (a) They misrepresented, ignored Art. I, Sec. 2, cl. 1; and (c) They rewrote Art. I, Sec. 4, cl. 1. what Alexander Hamilton & James Madison actually said...
Read it, understand it. Our country is in real peril.

It is with great trepidation that I anxiously await tomorrows vote.

The United States of America could see the beginning of the end of life as we know it... the historic point in which a misinformed public chose a vague promise over substance which in turn lead to the eventual collapse of our great liberty.

The end of individual risk, reward, and a representative government!

The end of freedom.

While Tuesday's child is full of grace. Wednesday's child is full of woe.

Let's hope this nursery rhyme that portends to predict a child's future based on the day of birth does not foretell us now of an ominous path of progression down a path from which return is not probable. A path paved by bricks of hope but leading into to dreaded place by those have fought to escape from there before.

This brings to mind another fairy tale with a simple message.

Hansel & Gretel of Grimm's Fairy Tale's fame were also lured us into the thickest part of the forest and we all know how close they came to paying for their foolishness with their lives.

I hope enough people know enough to choose not to give away their 'right to decide' in in life to those that are obsessed with wanting the power to control those decisions for everyone.

The lure of the candied house is but a spell and it is designed to entrap and feed its designer.

Tomorrow we will learn if we voted to be gobbled up.

The Unclear but Present Danger

Anyone that has not read the recent article from Townhall.com by Laura Hollis needs to do so.

I explained Obama's positions to my teenager this way.

I said in a couple of years you will be able to move out on your own and you would have the freedom to make your own decisions.

Do you have that plan?

Suppose instead of doing that you were required to live at home?

You will be taken care of and all your decisions will be made by us!
You will work but you will hand over your entire paycheck to us.
We will decide what you need.
We will decide if and when you need college and where it will be.
We will decide if and when you date.
We will decide if you drive and what you drive and where you go and who you see.
We will decide what stuff you have.

In other words you traded freedom for security.

Your decision was final....sorry!

What children learn about lying

If you are like me, than you were raised to believe that lying is wrong!

Not only is it harmful to others but it is harmful to you. A small lie takes on a life of it's own and it becomes increasingly difficult to hide the original deceit. Thus a small lie is hidden behind more and more lies in a never ending web that requires a creative and sinister belief that you can bury the original lie behind the stack of new ones.

Eventually though the house of cards comes tumbling down! Not only is the original lie exposed but the elaborate web of deceit unravels exposing the character of the liar and his or her dishonesty. Those that witness the deceit learn not to trust the liar to provide truthful information. That person is now thought to be lacking and is not credible.

My parents also taught me something else. If you know the truth but actively hide it and this is hurting others than this too is a form of lying. This form of lying can be easier to disguise because it requires one thing, a continued silence. Many people excuse this as there are sometimes good reasons to stay silent. Speaking out may be risky. Speaking out may bring unwanted attention and have consequences on your life that you did not ask for.

Right now I see both forms of lying hurting this country. I wonder how much harm the silence is causing. I wonder how much bigger the web of deceit will grow. The consequences of these lies will not only hurt people now but may hurt people for generations to come. The people doing this lying have a huge stake in being credible. Sadly, they do not seem to care.

Media, your short term goal of electing someone as your candidate has a critical price. You have already paid that price with me, you may not care now, but, the price is permanent and you will learn that I am hardly alone in no longer trusting you. You were entrusted with one main responsibility and you have failed in using that power responsibly.

You see, I have had cause to check the facts of your stories. What I find reveals who you are, and it reveals you to be a liar. Yes, I am talking about you our formerly trusted media.
I am giving you notice. You are fired! You are gone with cause. An egregious dereliction of duty and the deliberate and orchestrated deception of the American people. You have a few co-defendants also in Hollywood and the concert circuits and the late night comedy shows. They too are busted, services no longer required. Please take them with you!

The "lost ones"( that still believe you) must continue to be subject to your lying manipulations in order to appease them. Good luck with that. Remember, as our parents told us, "It is a house of cards!" It is hurting people and it will hurt you when it comes tumbling down.

Four more years of lying is a very impossible task even in a Marxist society! Millions of people whom have only known freedom and liberty will not be silenced or fall into line with a leader who is a liar, nor a media that deceives us and attacks the actual truth.

The loss of jobs caused by higher taxes, the crippling of an economy due to asinine environmental policies, the giveaway of billions for UN scam programs, the socializing of government and the false promises of entitlement, the cultural breakdown that leads to chaos,
the making of laws in our courts that subverts our Constitution, all of these....and many more
cannot be ignored nor lied away. Half of us already realize the liars you are, and eventually a lot more will wake up out of their zombie state and realize the trouble that you have helped wrought upon this great nation.

Journalism should be left to those with sensible parents. Parents that teach their children right from wrong. Obviously you media have gone to long without adult supervision. Obviously your parents never explained the difference between right and wrong. The consequences of your lack of integrity have transformed into the greatest threat that this nation has ever faced since the early days of it's inception. That threat is the total destruction of our country from within!

The truth about Barack Obama is that a whole tangle of lies are being fabricated to hide the truth.
The information is being hidden with more lies and silence.
The people tasked to give us the truth are those doing the lying.

Most children know better than to lie!
